Expressing anger as the bridge to our inner power

While searching for the solutions to my life and my inner struggle, I have started to learn that all unprocessed emotions are staying hidden staying in our bodies.

In some cases, this can be recent anger but in the others, it is the rage, resentment, frustration etc which accompanies us for years, starting from our childhood, as it was exactly in my case.

Very often, we keep ourselves busy in activities in order not to touch what is hurting us. And this approach is quite natural for human beings and their complex psyche: avoiding pain and pursuing simple pleasures are well-known feature in human behavioral pattern. Sometimes the discrepancy is so huge that we start more or less obsessive behaviors.

We tend to drink, smoke, have obsessive sex relationships, compulsive shopping or working attitudes, because we cannot face, what is at the bottom of us. So, we adopt jolly smile which does not reflect our inner sadness.

Also, it is not socially accepted to be angry, particularly in reference to women and this makes THE ANGER issue even more persistent.

You ask me ok… so what is anger?

Anger is a response to the perception that you were threatened. And this can be reality or just a perception.

Well, If we are angry our survival mechanism has been triggered. It is all about pain that can be inflicted on us or that has already been inflicted.

There are 3 types of reactions: fight, flight or freeze. We have also 2 types of behaviors: anger erupter and anger stuffer.

Specially the second pose is a person whose Hurt feelings and fear are under neath. But stuffer is the one who either fled or freezed, stuffing all the feelings down.

The problem is when we stuff our anger we collapsed our boundaries. In fact anger stuffers have great difficulties with life, with life life without boundaries. And those boundaries are very often crossed and trespassed nowadays.

We are permanently forced to do something, that we do not feel like doing from being always smiling, beautifu  to other things. Whereas our body needs the safe space to communicate what we do not want to do. If it doesn’t have it, it  will keep soaking like a sponge and then it will start bursting out/ explode.

And so, during the Florence Festival Dimensioni di Se’, which is holding place at FAF in Florence now, we will learn together safe, healthy relationship with our anger and our emotions.

We will explore how it is to give space that this ugly, unwanted emotion ‘’anger’’ can flow through the body and out of us. We will explore how it is to give space that this ugly, unwanted emotion ‘’anger’’ can flow through the body and out of us.

You will be able to check, which way resonates most with  you and how your body  feels after doing it.
